Character Creation Steps

Then fill in this form to make a folder for you, which will appear in the Google Drive of the email that you provide. You only need to fill out this form once. A Google account is required to share your player folder with you. 📝 Fill Out the Google Form

  1. (Make sure that you did step one :D) Create a level 3 character. Use the default 27point buy, (not stat rolls) and fixed hp (not rolled).

If you're using D&D Beyond for your character, you can use the built-in point buy calculator, or you can use this calculator for your core stats if you’re using a different platform for your character sheet. 🎲 Point Buy Calculator

  1. For your sheet, you have 3 options:

    • D&D Beyond: Which is the easiest if you're a beginner. If you choose this, please go to your folder in the Google Drive and put a link to your sheet in the red part in your tracking sheet. P.S. there's a thread for some tips on how to use it in 💬 getting-started channel
    • Dicecloud: Same as Beyond, please go to your folder in the google drive and put a link to your sheet in the red part in your tracking sheet.
    • G-sheet: In your Google Drive folder, there is a blank Gsheet that you can copy and rename it to your character's name. (you don't need to use this if you're using Beyond or Dicecloud)

  2. Post your character in the 💬 creation-log channel, using the pinned post for a template. Use this exact template 💬 Creation Log Template

    P.S. For races with multiple versions from different sourcebooks, you must list the source you are choosing.

  3. Once your character is ✅ Staff Approved, you receive the Player role, you are ready to play! P.S. Players can take either max gold from what their starting class gives them or starting equipment.

How to Find Your Folder

folder.png If you still can't find your folder, make sure to check that:

  • you completed step one in the character-creation-steps .
  • you're logged in with the same Google account you used in the form during step one.

Creation Tips

  • Use one of two base equipment options:
    • Starting equipment granted by class and background
    • Max values for the starting gold rolls of your 1st class
  • Average hp, not rolled. Take the maximum HP for first level and the average HP for all levels after
  • Multiclassing is allowed
  • Background customization is allowed
  • You can use any content listed in Allowed Materials

Class

  • Only classes from 2024 books
  • blood hunter are not allowed for now
  • Oath of the Noble Genies (Dao’s Crush): the target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns.

Subclass

  • All 2024 + 2014 official + Approved Partnered Content
  • Must use the new "Core Rules" version if reprinted
  • Everything you would have gained from the subclass before level 3 is now obtained at level 3

Backgrounds

  • Only backgrounds from 2024 books, but you can flavor any background/backstory, this is just for mechanics
  • You can adjust your ability scores to your choice of a +2/+1, or a +1/+1/+1, on different stats. None of these increases can raise a score above 20.

Races

  • 2024 + 2014 official + Approved Partnered Content
  • Must use the new "Core Rules" version if reprinted
  • All races do NOT give racial bonuses

Spells

  • 2024 + 2014 official + Approved Partnered Content
  • Must use the new version if reprinted
  • Banned: Deryan’s Helpful Homunculi

Feats

  • 2024 + 2014 official + Approved Partnered Content
  • Must use the new "Core Rules" version if reprinted
  • All feats from 2014 now have "Prerequisites: Level 4+"
  • Setting-specific background feats can be taken as origin feats (Scion of the Outer Planes, Squire of Solamnia, Initiate of High Sorcery, Strike of the Giants, Strixhaven Initiate)

Approved Partnered Content

  • Critical Role (except Gunslinger subclass):
    Explorer's Guide to Wildemount, Critical Role: Call of the Netherdeep, Tal’Dorei Campaign Setting Reborn
    P.S. Mystic Conflux can only be taken at T4/level 17 and above
  • Grim Hollow:
    Lairs of Etharis (except the feats), Grim Hollow: Player Pack (except Blade Breaker subclass)
  • Humblewood Campaign Setting, Humblewood Tales, Dungeons of Drakkenheim, The Griffon’s Saddlebag: Book Two, 1985 Games: Obojima: Tales from the Tall Grass
  • Heliana’s Guide to Monster Hunting: Part 1 (except Feats, Magitech Firearms, Bone Cage spell), Valda’s Spire of Secrets: Player Pack (except Dungeoneer subclass), The Crooked Moon

Character Slots

  • Each Player starts with 3 character slots.
  • For every character that reaches Tier 3 (level 11), you gain +1 additional slot, up to a maximum of 3 level up slots.
  • Full DMs receive one additional character slot.
  • Server Supporters also gain extra slots (Steward: +1, Heir: +2, Noble: +4)
